|Review Of The Comment Tool IntenseDebate
February 28, 2013
I have used IntenseDebate as a comment tool on all my websites since 2010 and I am very happy with it. But before I finally decided to go with IntenseDebate I tried a few other comment tools as well, which were OK. But because I found that IntenseDebate had a lot more functions, widgets, plugins, was easier to install and easier to manage than the other comment tool options I decided to go with IntenseDebate on my websites in the end.
Now some of the features IntenseDebate offer are; the possibility to respond to individual comments, comment moderation, email notifications, the possibility to comment using several different online profiles such as Facebook, Twitter, the IntenseDebate profile or by simply typing in your name and email in the text fields.
IntenseDebate also offer some great and fun widgets, the three I use are; comment stats, display of latest comments and posts with most comments - popular posts. Some of the plugins they offer are; CommentLuv, PollDaddy Embeddable Polls, Smileys and YouTube Embeddable Video. Both the IntenseDebate widgets and plugins are easy to install and easy to adjust after your preferences.
But not everything is perfect about IntenseDebate. One thing I have not been able to figure out is how to show off how many comments each post on my blogs have via a link on each post, when the post is in the archive for example? Or how to adjust the width of the "Latest Comments" feature? But other than that I have had no problems with IntenseDebate over the years and therefore I definitely recommend it. IntenseDebate is of course completely free to use. :-)
